Tacorita

Auburn is full of two things: chicken tenders and Mexican food. I took a trip into downtown Auburn to check out Tacorita, a locally owned and operated taco restaurant. In addition to great food, Tacorita has unbelievable margaritas and a great atmosphere. I ordered their Nashville Hot Chicken and Carne Asada tacos, then ordered their roasted street corn, with fresh aioli and cotija cheese. I ordered the corn after I had already ordered, which is why it is not in the picture above. The Nashville taco came with Nashville seasoned fried chicken, coleslaw, and a dill pickle. The pepper in the batter for the chicken is so vibrant and spicy it brings your mouth to a boil until the creamy coleslaw cools down your palette. The little bite of pickle refreshes your mouth for the next bite until you run out of taco. The Nashville chicken was hot, spicy, and delicious. The Carne asides taco came with beautiful little pillows of beef topped with a chimichurri aioli and chopped cilantro. Each bite was a blast of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors which made me pause for a second to really enjoy it. Both tacos came with warm and soft flour tortillas that didn’t break or tear. The fire roasted street corn had a beautiful char on it and was covered in their sweet aioli and cotija cheese. The flavors of saltiness and sweetness came together to keep me wanting more. I had a great experience at Tacorita and can assure you that you will too. From tremendous service to delicious food and drinks, Tacorita is a great place to stop by if you have not yet. I give my experience at Tacorita a Fatty Score of 8.6
